Jason Kaplan, M.D., F.A.A.O. Dr. Jason Kaplan is a vitreoretinal specialist and surgeon at The National Retina Institute (NRI). Dr. Kaplan graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in 1990 with a B.A. in Mathematics. He earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. Dr. Kaplan then completed internship at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, followed by residency training in ophthalmology at Maryland General Hospital, where in 1997-1998 he served as Chief Resident. Following residency training Dr. Kaplan undertook a medical retina fellowship program at the University of Texas-Southwestern Medical Center, followed by vitreoretinal fellowships at both the Eye and Ear Institute of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. A fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Kaplan is board certified in ophthalmology. He is also an active member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the Pittsburgh Ophthalmologic Society. Dr. Kaplan’s current studies and research interests include the use of feeder vessel laser treatment for patients with macular degeneration. |
